Mrs Anne Apperley
Whilst having a family and career break, I studied for a degree and proudly achieved a ‘First Class Honours’ in English Literature. This reignited my passion for education and I embarked on my journey into teaching nine years ago.
Since then, I have specialised as a Year 6 teacher but have experience teaching across all Key Stage 2-year groups.
I visited Freshwaters Primary Academy in 2017, specifically for one day, but never left! From that time, I have loved being a part of the ‘Freshwaters’ Family’ and recently assumed the role of Arts Leader. As such, my intention is to build our pupils’ confidence through exposure to the arts and cultural education. I want to bring art and culture to life within our school, whilst enabling our pupils to express themselves in a variety of artistic ways.
Although as a teacher my primary focus is to help children progress academically, I see my pastoral role as of equal importance. Whilst they learn, I hope to advise and help pupils so they grow in confidence, believe they can achieve their full potential and learn to value themselves. I aim to prepare them for their futures with the knowledge and skills they need to become independent learners, who can follow their dreams and will always aspire for success.
When I am not in school, I love to bake and decorate cakes, enjoy watching films and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy long walks in the forest with my Tibetan Terrier called Nellie
